15 - WATER SOFTENER WITH ELECTRONIC TIMER VT 1000 AND ET 500
The electronic timer VT 1000 is actually a small computer designed and created by GEL to control the
softener in a fully automatic way and allow an easy and fast programming.
This timer is capable of regenerating the resins with the following modes:
Time - Pure volume - Volume/Time – Volume/ with time
Programming is carried out by entering some simple data, such as water hardness – exact time –
regeneration frequency - regeneration time, and selecting the desired working mode (time, volume,
volume-time).
During the operation stage, the timer display shows the clock function and allows anyway to modify the
programmed data, the water volume the softener can treat and the volume produced already. During
regeneration the display indicates the stage that is being carried out.
Moreover, thanks to a function key it is possible to carry out an immediate manual regeneration with the
possibility to jump a stage for a fast test after installation.
The version VT 1000 AD is fitted with a disinfection system of the resins (recommended for potable use)
combined with a salt level control device.
The electronic timer VT 1000 is supplied with the programming of the following values:
- regeneration frequency: 04 days
- regeneration time: 02.00 by night
- water hardness at the entry: 50° f
The electronic timer ET 500 is completely the same as the VT 1000 but can control the regeneration by
time only.
The water softeners with the timer in the AD version are fitted with a disinfection system of the resins and
a special salt alarm system, which check after any regeneration that the salt in the tank is enough for the
next regeneration, by indicating the exhaustion, if any, with a sound-visual alarm.
Except for the clock and the exhausted salt alarm, all the other operating parameters
of the softener are to be adjusted by the authorized Technical Assistance Service
carrying out the first start up and testing of the softener.
The user and/or the installer are not allowed for any reason to change these
programming parameters!
