3. Connection
The E-ABS card is mounted on the application card thus replacing the D-NET card. It
externally interfaces a first encoder via the 1...5 terminals of the application card and a
second encoder via a 9-female pole D-sub connector.
3.1 Connection to the Application Card
The E-ABS connection to the application card is performed by using those signals originally
used to interface the D-NET card via the X1 and X2 connectors. The X1 connector, which is
described in the following paragraph, is used to interface the first encoder. The X2 connector is
used, on the contrary, to interface the card DPRAM to the microprocessor of the application
card.
