Assembling the roof extension
9.1.1
Safety notes
The roof extensions are safety components and may only be used if they are not damaged in any way.
Damaged parts may be replaced by original spare parts from the manufacturer. The roof extensions are
used to secure the bearing rope and safety rope and are intended for use on flat roofs. One roof
extension is required per winch on the working platform. Apart from the ropes on the working
platform, no other loads may be suspended on the roof extensions.
Before setting up the roof extension, determine the number of ballast weights (see Point 9.1.4). Each
roof extension can take a max. of 2 x 18 ballast weights.
The localized pressure on the roof surface can be minimized by setting the beam on wooden planks or
U-profiles. (U-profiles with holders for the wheels of the roof extension can be acquired as
accessories.)
The roof extensions must be set up horizontally and secured against rolling off (secure with wheel
brake or use additional wedges on sloping roofs of approx. ±3°). For roofs with greater sloping
inclinations, the roof extensions must be additionally secured and/or underpinned and horizontally
aligned.
The distance of the roof extension must correspond to the distance of the C-clamp or the front
suspension of the winch.
Always use personal protective gear (e.g. safety harness and
safety belt) when working at sites where there is a risk of
falling)
Hang up rope, see Point 9.1.5
