Chapter 7. Maintenance
7.1 Inspecting and Cleaning the System
You should inspect and clean the
XL Vu+
system with a soft cloth and a 70%
alcohol-to-water solution before and after each use. If using the system in a dirty
environment, clean the components more frequently, as needed.
If damage is found, contact
GE Measurement & Control
for return instructions and
an RMA (return material authorization) number. Early detection of minor
conditions can prevent costly repairs.
7.1.1 Cleaning Optical Tips
Dirty optical tip surfaces cause distorted or blurred images. For best image quality,
the optical tip and the camera head should be cleaned frequently.
To clean the probe tip, including the lens on the camera head, use either glass
cleaner or a 70% alcohol-to-water solution and a pointed cotton swab (see
Figure 102
below). The three surfaces that require cleaning are: the
