, the probe must be directly in the path of the radiant heat
of the lamp; do

place the probe in an area shielded from the lamp’s light. The photo

therapy lamp may raise the baby’s skin temperature

use rectal temperatures to control the baby’s temperature

Do

remove the probe from its storage bag until required for use. Replace the probe if
the cable or tip becomes damaged.

re-use a disposable probe. Cleaning and reusing a single use probe may damage
the probe and result in inaccurate readings.
