4.5.4 Sleep and wake-up
Probably your UPS monitoring software allows you to program a “sleep period” of the UPS by
sending two commands to the UPS:
- shutdown after # minutes and subsequently:
- shutdown during # hours.
After the first command the following screen appears:
PROG. SHUTDOWN
WITHIN 0:09:17
During the sleep period the output voltage is no longer
available.
LED “operation” blinks green, and the LCD screen shows the
time left until restart:
PROG. SHUTDOWN
LEFT 0:14:03
If a mains failure occurs during the sleep period and the
battery voltage eventually drops below 200Vdc, the UPS will
automatically switch OFF in order to save battery power.
When the mains returns the UPS will start up automatically.
The programmed sleep time however is lost.
The sleep period can be cancelled by either turning the
ON/OFF switch (7) OFF for a few seconds or by sending the
appropriate command via the ComConnect port.
4.5.5 Overload protection in bypass mode
The
LP 31
will protect itself in case of overload.
Upon an overload, which is caused by abnormal circumstances, the UPS will switch to bypass
operation, and subsequently the bypass input fuse on the front panel will trip.
The capacity of the bypass fuse allows it to handle the inrush currents of the equipment
connected to the UPS.
The fuse will only trip after more than an hour at:
