I

NTRODUCTION

 

Digiplex

®

 IV is a video matrix switching system. The master switcher chassis of the Digiplex IV system 

provides 64 video inputs and 32 monitor outputs. The Digiplex IV system expands from 64 inputs x 32 outputs 
to more than 512 inputs x 64 outputs by adding expansion cards and expansion chassis. (For systems larger 
than 512 x 64, contact your GE Interlogix sales representative.) Video is brought into the master and slave 
chassis by coaxial cables and switched between the master, slave, and expansion chassis by ribbon cables. 
Built-in diagnostic LEDs on the front panels of the chassis provide constant confirmation of system power, 
communications, video, and camera performance.

There is a camera input 0. It is used for GE Interlogix domes or fixed cameras.

Only 32 cameras can be programmed per sequence per monitor.

The RS422 control signal is polarity sensitive. Ensure that all RS422 cabling is A to A and B to B. 

! 

If adding remote slaves, design your system carefully before installation and programming. Adding remote 
slaves to an existing system usually requires significant system changes.
