Q: I switched the unit on, but it does not load or get past the Android logo, why?
A: Depending on the state of the battery, Android sometimes has trouble loading.
Unplug the unit from the charger, press the reset button using a paperclip or toothpick
and leave it on until the battery is completely drained (this may take a few hours).
Then, plug the unit into the charger, do not turn the unit on, and let charge for at least 4
hours. Then turn the unit on and all should load. If this procedure does not work, locate
the reset button on the bottom right side of the unit (near the DC socket).
Press this button using a paperclip, pin or toothpick.
The unit will reset and turn on again automatically.
Q: Can I play YouTube videos on my device?
A: Yes. You can tap the YouTube application icon for quick access videos, or go to
Youtube via the browser.
Q: Video Skype used to work and now it does not. All we get is a coloured screen
of the other person on the end of Skype
or vice-versa .. Why?
A: This was a software bug by Skype. It works perfectly on Android 2.3 or 3.0, however,
the bug was discovered by Skype when Android moved to 4.0. The version of Skype pre
-installed on your unit was tested by Spotbuy and used when the unit was manufac-
tured. For Skype not to work, then a different version of Skype has been installed on
your unit since delivery. This can happen in the background if you have set your GMAIL
account and unit to accept automatic updates, or if you were notified by a “Version
check” of a later release and you accepted it, or you have downloaded a different / new-
er version from Goggle Play Store. The correct Skype version for your unit is 2.5.0.160.
Please go to Settings / Apps / All. Scroll down to Skype and select it to check the ver-
sion. If it is a different version number, please contact us at [email protected] so
we can email you the correct Skype version to re-install.
Q: My programs used to work when I first received the unit, now some don’t,
why?
A: Please refer the question directly above.
Q: I put in a micro SD card, but the unit cannot read it?
A: As per the user guide, please make sure the SD card is formatted as FAT32 … not
just FAT. If it is formatted as FAT32, then please make sure you click on the SD card
icon if using File Manager.
Q: I downloaded some eBooks, but Aldiko cannot open them, and I get an error
message saying “File format not compatible”, or just a blank screen, why?
A: The eBooks you downloaded are Adobe DRM file protected (ePUB). Aldiko does not
support DRM files … no Android touch tablet does. Please make sure you download
any other format except for DRM ePUB. For full DRM file compatibility, you will need to
purchase a DRM certified eBook reader.
