In the Firewall section, the
Enable DoS (Denial of Service) Firewall
check box
is selected (default). We recommend that you enable this security feature
to prevent Denial of Service attacks from overloading your Internet
connection and making it unavailable.
Set the Threshold to match the bandwidth of your Internet connection
(check with your ISP).

In the Options
area, click to select any of the following check boxes:

Respond to ICMP (ping) on WAN interface -
If enabled, your router
responds to pings from sources on the Internet. Not enabling this
option provides a slight increase in security.

Allow IPsec -
If enabled, your router allows IPSec connections. IPSec is
a protocol used for VPN (Virtual Private Networking) connections to
increase security.
■
Allow PPTP -
If enabled, your router allows PPTP (Point to Point
Tunneling Protocol) connections. PPTP is a protocol used for VPN
(Virtual Private Networking) connections to increase security.
■
Allow L2TP -
If enabled, your router allows L2TP (a security protocol
developed by Cisco) connections. L2TP is a protocol used for VPN
(Virtual Private Networking) connections to increase security.

Save
to save your entries or
Cancel
to remove your entries. Close the
window to return to the
Advanced Features/Configuration
window.
Change log settings
The
Logs
window lets you request that several logs be kept which record
connections, access records, and DoS attacks. You can e-mail the logs to
designated recipients at specified intervals.
