Powering Up the System
First Time Power Up
1.
If using a UPS, turn it on first.
2.
Power on the monitor and any additional devices connected to the
system drawer. Listen for audible alarms that might indicate possible
power problems.
3.
If multiple system drawers and a switch box are installed, press the
switch box button that corresponds to the System drawer that is being
powered up.
4.
For this first time power-up, if multiple System drawers were installed,
wait until the first System drawer has booted completely before
powering up additional System drawers.
5.
Press the ON/OFF button on the system drawer. Listen for audible
alarms that might indicate possible power problems. Verify that the
power indicator is lit. The monitor should display the normal Power
On Self Test (POST) information, such as counting up memory and
checking the CPU(s), etc. If the monitor does not display information
or the System drawer indicates an error condition, refer to the
Troubleshooting section.
6.
Once the system drawer has booted successfully, you can begin
configuring your system drawer to your requirements by installing the
operating system of your choice.
7.
Repeat steps 3 through 6 for each additional System drawer installed.
Normal Power Up
Power on devices and drawers attached to the system drawer first. When
they have completed their power on sequences, power on the system drawer.
Note:
Booting each System
drawer separately is not
normally required, but it is
recommended for the first
time power up of your
system to help identify any
power or cabling
configuration problems.
