Place the jumper across pins 5-6 of jumper J13.

Close the case, then reconnect the power cord, monitor, and keyboard. For
more information, see
“Closing the server case” on page 44 .

Place the startup diskette containing the BIOS files into drive A:.

Turn on the server. At the start of the BIOS recovery process, the server
beeps once. The recovery process may take a few minutes.

When prompted, remove the diskette and turn off the server.

Disconnect the power cord and remove the side panel again. Remove the
jumper from pins 5-6 of jumper J13, and place it over just one of the pins
for storage.

Close the case, reconnect the power cord and all other cables, then turn
on the server.

When the Gateway Logo screen appears, press F2 to open the BIOS Setup
utility.

In the BIOS Setup utility, go to the appropriate menus and select any BIOS
fields you want to change. Make sure that the date and time are correct.

Save your changes, then close the BIOS Setup utility.
Warning Moving the jumper while the power is on can damage your
server. Always turn off the server and unplug the power
cord and all other cables before changing the jumper.
