Problem
Possible Reason
The Solution
The time is flashing on the
display.
The clock has not yet
been set, after connec-
ting the appliance to the
power supply.
This is normal. If required, set the clock via the hour and
minute buttons. However, this is not mandatory, if you do
not wish to use the timer.
You cannot turn out the
filter holder from under the
brewing head.
The filter holder is locked
under the brewing head.
Do not attempt to pull the filter holder out with violence!
Always press the opening button (“OPEN”) for releasing
the filter holder first. Then carefully pull the filter holder
out.
The lock of the filter hol-
der is damaged.
When pulling out the filter holder from under the brewing
head with violence, the lock gets damaged. Always use
the opening button (“OPEN”) to release the filter holder,
before turning it out.
The filter holder does not
fit correctly under the
brewing head and/or can-
not be engaged.
The filter basket is not
inserted properly.
Turn the filter basket until it settles down stably. There is
only one correct orientation of the filter basket. A squared
protrusion on the filter basket must be inserted into an
exactly fitting groove in the filter holder.
The handle of the re-
usable filter is not folded
down completely.
The handle of the re-usable filter must be folded down
completely into the rim of the re-usable filter. Thereafter
place the splash shield on the filter basket.
The filter bag is too big or
not inserted correctly.
Only use size 4 filter bags. Fold in the seam of the filter
bag and, holding the filter holder with one hand, push
down the filter bag into the filter basket, lining the side
walls of the filter basket via the filter bag. Place the
splash shield on the filter basket.
The splash shield is not
inserted correctly.
The splash shield can be fixed on the filter basket only
in the correct orientation. Turn over the splash shield and
try again. When using a filter bag, you may need to push
the splash shield down gently.
The hinge of the filter hol-
der is damaged.
By pressing on the filter holder, the hinge could get
damaged. Contact your vendor for examination and
repair.

Problem
Possible Reason
The Solution
There is no reaction to
your entries or the control
panel reacts to your ent-
ries only unwillingly.
The skin of your finger tips
is very dry or fatty.
The touchscreen of the control panel is designed like other
similar devices (e.g. smartphones), reacting only hardly to
extremely dry or fatty skin. Rub your finger with a drop of
water and try again.
IMPORTANT: Pressing harder on the control panel is useless!
Only the timer button does
not respond: The clock
has not yet been set, after
connecting the appliance to
the power supply.
In this case, the time flashes on the display area. This is
normal. If required, set the clock via the hour and minute
buttons first. Then try again.
NOTE: Only the timer does not react, when the clock has
not been set.
Only the hour and minute
buttons do not respond:
You attempted to change
the starting time of the
timer, but the timer is acti-
vated already.
When the timer is activated already (timer button is
illuminated red), the starting time is only displayed, but
does not respond to the hour button or minute button.
De-activate the timer first by touching the timer button
shortly. Then try again.
A function is running. The
on/off button is illumina-
ted red.
While a function is running, the control panel is inactive
despite of the on/off button.
- Wait until the function is finished, or
- cancel operation by touching the on/off button. Then
try again.
You are using pre-ground
coffee powder, but the
grinder is operated.
The grinder button is illu-
minated white: You did
not de-activate the grinder
before starting operation.
After de-activating the grinder for a brewing cycle, the grinder
is re-activated again automatically, when the brewing cycle
is complete.
Before starting operation with pre-ground coffee powder,
always check, whether the grinder button is illuminated red
(grinder off) or white (grinder on).
The coffee runs out at the
rim of the filter basket
and/or at the rim of the
glass carafe.
The drip-stop valve is
closed.
Immediately unplug the coffee machine.
- Ensure that the glass carafe is placed correctly on the
heating plate.
- The carafe lid opens the drip-stop valve. Ensure that the
carafe lid is undamaged and positioned correctly on the
glass carafe.
- Only use the dedicated glass carafe with the appliance.
