BEFORE FIRST USE

Do not leave young children without
supervision with the appliance, any part of it, or the packaging in their reach.
CAUTION

Do not use violence when attempting to pull out the filter hol-
der from under the brewing head!
Always press the opening button at the right
side of the housing to release the filter holder, before turning the filter holder out.
1. Unpack the appliance and all parts carefully. Press the opening button at the right
side of the housing for releasing the filter holder (see: ‘Knowing Your Coffee Machi-
ne Grind & Brew Pro’). Ensure that you have found all parts and accessories. Filter
basket, re-usable filter, and splash shield may be inserted in the filter holder.
2. Remove and discard all promotional labels, stickers, and packaging materials
attached to your Coffee Machine Grind & Brew Pro, but do not remove the
model label at the bottom of the housing.
Always ensure that young children
do not play with any parts or accessories or the packaging!
CAUTION
– Do not use any sharp-edged objects, abrasive cleaners, cleaning
pads (e.g. metal scouring pads), or any corrosive cleaners (e.g. disinfectants, che-
mical bleach) for cleaning. Do not use any hard or sharp-edged objects for clea-
ning the appliance. Do not place the appliance in an automatic dishwasher.
3. Clean the filter basket, splash shield, re-usable filter, glass carafe and the hopper
lid using warm dishwater and a soft cloth. Rinse well, than dry thoroughly (see:
‘Care and Cleaning’).
4. Ensure that the bean hopper is completely empty, but do not attempt to remove
the bean guiding cone. Wipe the interior of the bean hopper using a soft, cle-
an, and dry cloth. Close the bean hopper via the hopper lid.
NOTE
Before using the appliance for making the first coffee, you should rinse the brewing
system with clear tap water,
leaving the bean hopper and filter basket empty
.
5. Prepare the coffee machine for operation,
but without a filter and without
coffee beans or coffee powder
. Place the filter basket into the filter holder and
cover via the splash shield. Swivel the filter holder under the brewing head and
slightly press it in to engage it securely. (see: ‘Brewing Coffee / Preparing the
Appliance for Operation’).
NOTE
Only use cold, fresh tap water for rinsing the water system. Do not use mineral
water, de-ionized water, or other liquids. Do not use any additives.
6. Open the water tank lid at the rear of the appliance and fill the water tank up to
filling level 12 with cold clear tap water (1.5 litres). Then close the water tank
lid. Ensure to place the glass carafe on the heating plate of the appliance with
the carafe lid closed. Ensure that the filter holder including the filter basket and
splash shield is engaged securely below the brewing head.
7. Touch the grinder button and ensure that the grinder button illuminates red. Start
operation by touching the on/off button (see: ‘Brewing Coffee’). The on/off but-
ton illuminates red and the appliance starts operation.
WARNING
– After operation, the glass carafe is filled up almost to the rim
with hot water. Additionally, the brewing head, filter basket, and heating plate of
the appliance is hot. Only touch the parts of the appliance by the dedicated
handles. Handle the glass carafe with care when taking out the glass carafe and
pouring the water to avoid injuries and damage due to hot surfaces and hot water.
8. Wait until the water tank is completely empty and the acoustic signal sounds
(approx. 10 minutes). Carefully take out the glass carafe, avoiding to spill hot water.
Discard the hot water. Rinse the glass carafe and carafe lid with clear tap water.
9. Repeat the steps 6 to 9 once or twice. Thereafter, the appliance is ready for
operation.
BREWING COFFEE

RISK OF BURNS!
During operation, brewing head, filter sys-
tem, glass carafe, and heating plate get very hot and hot steam and hot water
may escape. Always ensure to prepare the appliance for operation completely
and correctly according to the instructions given in this booklet, before starting
operation to avoid overflow and risk of injuries and damage. Always unplug and
wait until the appliance cooled down, before cleaning or moving the appliance.
During operation and shortly thereafter do not hold your hands or arms under the
brewing head or filter holder to avoid scalds due to hot water and steam.
Do not
use any other but the designated glass carafe with the appliance. The carafe lid
opens the drip-stop valve of the filter basket. Without the glass carafe and cara-
fe lid in place the filter basket will overflow, causing risk of severe burns and
damage due hot water running out.
