Auto-Tuning
To select a VOR/localizer/ILS frequency:
1. If the tunng cursor s not currently n the VLOC
wndow, press the
small left
knob momen-
tarly.
2. Turn the
large left
knob to select the desred
megahertz (MHz) value. For example, the
“117” porton of the frequency “117.80”.
3. Turn the
small left
knob to select the desred
klohertz (kHz) value. For example, the “.80”
porton of the frequency “117.80”.
4. To make the standby frequency the actve
frequency, press the
VLOC flip-flop
key.
Auto-Tuning
A frequency may also be quickly selected from the
database by simply highlighting the desired frequency
on the
VOR page
or the
nearest VOR page
and pressing
the
ENT
key. This process is referred to as
auto-tuning
.
Once a frequency is selected in the standby field, it
may be transferred to the active frequency by press-
ing the
VLOC flip-flop
key. (Auto-tuning can also
be performed from VLOC frequencies listed on the
NAVCOM
,
airport frequency
, and
nearest flight service
station
pages.)
To select a VLOC frequency from the VOR or near-
est VOR pages:
1. Select the desred page from the man pages.
(See page references on the precedng page.)
2. Press the
small right
knob momentarly to
actvate the flashng cursor.
3. Turn the
large right
knob to hghlght the
frequency for the desred VOR.
4. Press
ENT
to place the frequency n the standby
field of the VLOC wndow.
5. Press the
VLOC flip-flop
key to actvate the
selected frequency.
