2.5.5 Dropping Reference Points
The radar can measure the bearing and range to two reference points, each marked
by a variable range marker (VRM)—a circle centered on the own ship position, and an
electronic bearing line (EBL)—a straight line extending from the own ship position to and
beyond the reference point, crossing the VRM at the reference point. The first point is
marked with solid lines, and the second with dashed lines.
