Setting Navigation and Sonar
Alarms
The Alarms page allows you to set navigation
and sonar alarms. When an alarm goes off, the
unit beeps five times and displays a message.
To set an alarm:
1. Press
MENU
twice to open the Main Menu.
2. Highlight
Alarms
and press
ENTER
.
3. Press the
Rocker
key Right or Left to open the
Navigation
or
Sonar
Alarms page.
4. Make the desired changes to the alarms.
Navigation Alarms
Next Turn
—sets an alarm to indicate the next turn
in a route. Select
Dist
or
Time
to enter a specific distance/time
before you reach the next turn to
sound the alarm.
Arrival
—sets an alarm to sound
when you are a specified distance
or time away from a destination
waypoint.
Off Course
—sets an alarm if you are off your desired
course. Place a check mark in the box and enter a dis-
tance.
Anchor Drag
—sets an alarm to sound when you
have exceeded a specified drift distance. Place a check
mark in the box and enter a distance.
Sonar Alarms
Shallow Water/Deep Water
—sets an alarm to sound
when you enter an area of water that is too shallow
or deep. Place a check mark in the box and enter a
distance. You must be receiving sonar NMEA data for
this function to work.
Speed Filter
—allows the unit to average speed read-
ings. If you select
User
,
enter
a time period to wait between
speed readings. Changing the
Speed Filter setting causes a sta-
tus message to appear when you
turn on the unit.
