To check manifold pressure and adjust regulator
i
IMPORTANT
When adjusting gas pressure, all gas utilizing equipment should be
on during adjustments. This will ensure burners are getting correct gas pressures
during a system load.
FOR HEEGM 24” & 36” UNITS
1. Check the pressure value on the unit’s rating plate: 4.5” WC (Natural); 10” WC (Propane).
2. Remove knobs and the valve panel (see sections 6.1 and 6.2).
WARNING
Remove power supply to the unit before opening panels for servicing.
3. Connect a manometer to the test spigot on the manifold.
4. Restore power supply to the unit. Then turn on the unit and
set ALL the burners to HIGH
.
5. Check the manometer reading:
•
If the manometer reading matches the pressure value stated on the rating plate, then no
adjustment is necessary.
•
If the manometer reading does not match the pressure value, adjust the regulator pressure
by rotating the
pressure adjustment screw
on the regulator. See illustration in “6.4.1
General Information”.
•
To increase pressure, turn the adjustment screw clockwise.
•
To decrease pressure, turn the screw counter-clockwise.
FOR HEEGM 48” & 60” UNITS
1. Check the pressure value on the unit’s rating plate: 4.5” WC (Natural); 10” WC (Propane).
2. Remove knobs and the valve panel (see sections 6.1 and 6.2).
WARNING
Remove power supply to the unit before opening panels for servicing.
3. Connect a manometer to the
test
spigot on the LEFT manifold
, which controls the set of
burners on the left side (burners 1-4 on 48”; 1 - 6 on 60”). See illustrations in “5.1 Sequence of
Operation” or the Wiring Diagrams in section “7 Wiring Diagrams”.
4. Restore power supply to the unit. Then turn on the
LEFT SIDE
of the unit
ONLY
(use the
LEFT
SWITCH
) and
set the burners to HIGH
.
5. Check the manometer reading:
•
If the manometer reading matches the pressure value stated on the rating plate, then no
adjustment is necessary.
•
If the manometer reading does not match the pressure value, adjust the regulator pressure
by rotating the
pressure adjustment screw
on the regulator. See illustration in “6.4.1
General Information”.
•
To increase pressure, turn the adjustment screw clockwise.
•
To decrease pressure, turn the screw counter-clockwise.
