Oil change
IMPORTANT.
Drain the oil while the
engine in still warm to ensure rapid and
complete draining.
1. Remove the oil drain plug using a spanner
and rotating in a anti clock wise direction.
2. Slightly tilt the mower to the side so the
drain port is the lowest point.
3. When the oil has drained, place the mower back on a flat surface and replace
the oil plug by a couple of turns.
4. Add a small quantity of oil and then drain this oil through the drain port by
removing the drain plug and tilting the mower as above.
5. When fully drained, place the mower on a flat and level surface and replace the
drain plug and tighten firmly.
6. Wipe up any spilt oil.
7. Add 400ml of SAE 10W/30 oil through the top oil fill. Clean up any spilt oil.
8. Check the dip stick level and ensure the oil level is correct.
Note.
Please dispose of used motor oil in a manner that is compatible with the
environment. We suggest you take it in a sealed container to your local service
station for reclamation. Do not throw it in the trash or pour it into the earth.
Air cleaner service
IMPORTANT.
A dirty air cleaner will restrict air flow to the carburettor.
To prevent carburettor malfunction, service the air clearer regularly.
Check that the air filter is clean and dry of dirt.
Filters thick with debris will not allow the engine to breath
and result in difficult starting and poor engine performance.
1. Remove the air filter by releasing the clips on the left and right
hand side of the cover. Be careful to avoid dust and debris
falling into the bottom of air cleaner.
2. Remove the foam element.
3. Check, clean or replace the damaged air cleaner parts.
