3. OPERATION

  

DANGER! Risk of injury!

  

Cut injury when the product starts acciden-

tally.

  Disconnect the product from the mains and  

slide the  protective cover over the blade before 

you connect or transport the product.

To connect the hedge  trimmer [ Fig. O1 ]:

  

CAUTION! Risc of electric shock!

 

 To avoid damage to the mains cable

extension cable

 must be inserted into  

the cable lock

  Before you operate the product insert the exten-

sion cable

 into the cable lock

  Never take hold of the protective cover when 

connecting the product.

1.  Loop the extension cable

, insert the loop into the 

cable lock

 and pull tight.

2.  Connect the plug

 of the product into the socket

of the  extension cable.

3.  Connect the extension cable

 into a 230 V mains 

socket.

Work positions:
The product can be operated in 3 positions.

• Side trimming [ Fig.  O2 ]
• High trimming [ Fig.  O3 ]
• Low trimming [ Fig.  O4 ]
To start the hedge trimmer [ Fig. O5 ]:

when you release the start button.

  Do not bypass the safety devices or switches. 

For example do not attach the start buttons

to the handle.

To start:
The product is fitted with a two-handed safety device  

(2 start buttons) to prevent the product from being 

turned  

on by accident.
1.  Remove the protective cover from the blade.
2.  Hold the front handle

 with one hand and push the 

start button

3.  Hold the main handle

 with the other hand and push 

the start button

The product will start.

To stop:
1.  Release the two start buttons

2.  Slide the protective cover over the blade.

To connect the front handle [ Fig. A1 ]:
1.  Push the front handle

 into the slot in the product. 

Make sure that the front handle

 is fully in place and 

the handle hole is inline up with the threaded hole.

2.  Put both screws

 in the threaded hole in the product. 

Do not push the start button

 while you doing this.

3.  Tighten both screws

 with a screwdriver.  

Make sure that the screws 

(2)

 are fully tightened and  

the start  button

 can be fully pushed.

4. MAINTENANCE

  Disconnect the product from the mains and  

slide the protective cover over the blade before 

you do maintenance.

To clean the hedge trimmer:

 Risk of injury and risk of damage to the 

product.

  Do not clean the product with water or with a 

water jet (in particular high-pressure water jet).

1.  Clean the product with a damp cloth.
2.  Clean the airflow slots with a soft brush (do not  

use a screwdriver).

3.  Lubricate the blade with a low viscosity oil  

(e. g. GARDENA  Maintenance Oil Art. 2366).  

Avoid contact with the plastic parts.
