The DP-Vision-CAT series
KVM extenders of the DP-Vision-CAT series consist of a computer module
( DP-Vision-CAT-CPU ) and a user modules ( DP-Vision-CAT-CON ).
Connect the computer to be operated as well as an optional console to the computer
module. The remote console is connected to the user module.
Both the computer module and the user module are connected via a category 5e (or
better) twisted pair cable. Signals of keyboard, mouse and DisplayPort™ video of
the computer connected are transmitted using these cables and enable you to oper-
ate the computer remotely.
The computer can either be operated at the remote console of the user module or at
the local console of the computer module.

The DP-Vision-CAT series provides further variants that additionally enable the use of
several monitors (see chapter Technical data ).
Type of USB support
The DP-Vision-CAT series provides further variants that additionally enable the trans-
mission of USB 2.0 signals:
UC and CON-2 variants
Two different counterpart stations (either compatible digital extenders or compati-
ble matrix switches) can be connected to the optionally available UC variants of the
computer modules or CON-2 variants of the user modules.
NOTE: The modules of the DP-Vision-CAT series can be used with products from
other product series in mixed operation.

NOTE:
When applying multi-channel and/or ARU2 variants of the DP-Vision system,
any additional signals are transmitted using further twisted pair cables.
