3.2.2 Equipment
Location
1.
Castors on the unit ease final positioning.
2.
As with all electrical equipment, installation and serviceability will
be easier if access is provided on all sides of the equipment.
3.
Verify adequate clearance around cabinet to allow unrestricted
exhaust air to flow (12 inches minimum).
4.
Verify that the UPS system is installed in a clean, cool, and dry
location.
3.2.3 Elect
r
rical Wiring
1.
Verify that power wiring is run in an individual separate conduit or
cable tray. Verify that control wiring is run in an individual separate
conduit.
2.
For minimum conductor size, refer to Table 2 on page 11
,
which has
been prepared in accordance with NEC requirements. (Please check
your local electrical codes to ensure compliance with the given grades.)
3.2.4
Seismic Anchoring Kit (Optional)
An optional seismic anchoring kit is available for the UPS that provides
protection against earthquakes when using the UPS in areas subject to seismic
events. The kit enables you to securely anchor the UPS to the floor, in
compliance with federal recommendations for bracing heavy equipment in
earthquake zones.
When installing the seismic anchoring kit, the following site considerations
should be met:
1.
The UPS should be anchored to a solid concrete floor that is strong
enough to support the anchor bolts.
2.
The surface to which the UPS is anchored should be free of interference
from utility supplies or electrical conduits.
