Assembling and connecting internal batteries
The internal battery consists of three banks made up of four trays. Each bank holds one string of
32x12-volt, 20 Ah batteries (up to 3x32x12 V). The batteries need to be assembled on each shelf
in series
outside
of the unit.
To access the battery trays carefully remove the front panel and the battery shelf guards. Verify
that all battery circuit breakers are in the off position. Open the battery fuse boxes and remove
all
battery trays.
First populate all battery trays externally from the system. Next, verify polarity on each tray. Only
then can you insert the populated trays into the system. For an explanation of what populated
batteries mean, refer to Figure 14 through Figure 17.
Carefully insert one tray at a time into the system most of the way, without making contact with
the back connector. Once all trays have been mounted on their shelf, firmly slide one by one to
the back of the shelf closing the back connector. The battery banks run top to bottom where the
top trey is the positive pole and the bottom is the negative.
There must be at least one battery set for each power module in the system.
If one or more of the battery strings are not used, remove the trays and store
them externally to the unit.
All battery terminal connection torque values must be in accordance with the
battery manufacturer specifications.
