GAR T. Instructions Manual

CHAPTER 1.  GENERAL DESCRIPTION.  TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS

The welding equipment from the GAR T series

are industrial with three-phase electrical supply and
rectifying group.

These equipment are characterised by the

continuous type output wave (transformer plus
rectifier), which permits, apart from welding with all
kinds of coated electrodes (rutile, basic, acid, etc.),
welding with the TIG procedure with protective gas.
The welding current is adjusted continuously with an
easy-to-handle wheel.

The majority of the materials used industrially

can be welded with these types of equipment:
ordinary carbon steels, stainless steels, cast, etc.

The series of equipment has various powers,

so that the correct group can be chosen depending
on the professional use to be given to it.

The GAR T series machines have double

voltage (220-380V/50 Hz, other values on order), it
not being necessary to have access to the inside of
the equipment to make the change, as they have a
switch on the front enabling this operation to be
carried out very easily.

The wheels, both on the front and rear, make

transport easy and simple.  The handles are
ergonomical and the equipment has a lifting eye.

The welding current is adjusted by means of a

wheel located on the front of the appliance.  This
system activates a spindle which permits the
movement of the dispersion blocks of the
transformer.  A dial located on the front of the
appliance gives an approximate value of the current
intensity which is going to be used for welding, as
well as the most suitable electrode diameter to carry
out the operation.

The set of accessories needed for the correct

use of the equipment without risks are the following:
Welding shield. Gloves. Welding clip and ground.

The Technical data of the equipment are

given on a characteristics plate which is found on the
front panel of the machine.  Its content is explained
in the table below. You will see that the middle part
of the table is double as the values for both
ELECTRODE-TIG welding procedures are given.
