The assembly principle
For profile cylinders, the cylinder plug is disassembled and repinned in the desired differ.
A suitable disassembly key is required to dismount the assembled service cylinder.
3.1 Assembly and pinning procedure
A general overview of the assembly and pinning procedure of profile cylinders is given hereafter.
You will find detailed instructions on the cylinder assembly in the corresponding sections.Princi-
pally proceed as follows:
1. Search the table and the description of the cylinder with the requested function.
Example:
You want to replace the pins in a cylinder with "emergency function" that is
35/35 mm long. You will find the description from page 18 onwards and the
corresponding table on page 37.
2. Disassemble the existing cylinder, sort the tumbler pins into the correct compartments in the
assembly case.
3. In the event that any components have fallen out, search for the length for this cylinder side in
the first table column.
4. Assort the specified extension pieces in the stated type and length from the assembly case.
Example:
length BL 50 mm (first mounted cylinder half) =
1 coupling with emergency function
2 retaining rings,
1 cylinder cam for emergency function,
1 coupling extension piece, 5 mm,
1 coupling extension piece, 10 mm.
5. Assemble the cylinder plug as indicated in the description from page 18 onwards.
It is absolutely necessary to adhere to the sequence of cylinder plug extensions and the installa-
tion positions of the components!
6. Repin the second cylinder side accordingly.
7. Assemble the cylinder completely as described from page 18 onwards.
