8.1
Installing expansion cards
The system board offers six PCI slots:

5 x PCIe slots, all mechanical x8:
–
2x PCIe x8 slots (Gen2), one slot is open on the right side to allow a x16
graphics card to be inserted
–
2x PCIe x4 slots (Gen2)
–
1x PCIe x4 slot (Gen1)
–
1 x PCI slot (32 bit / 33 MHz)

Boot controller:
Slot 1 and slot 5 are configured for the boot controller by default. If a boot
controller is to be operated on another slot, this needs to be configured
in the BIOS Setup (Advanced/PCI Configuration/PCI SLOTS Configu-
ration/Option ROM Scan: Enabled, see the BIOS Setup manual). The
“Option ROM Scan“ setting specifies whether the adapter BIOS is
started by the system BIOS in the respective PCI slot.
