Port Replicator
Your Fujitsu LifeBook comes with a Port Replicator.
The Port Replicator extends the functionality of your
LifeBook by providing ports to connect PS/2 devices,
a LAN (RJ-45) cable, a USB device, an external monitor,
a parallel device, a serial device, and an external floppy
disk drive. The Port Replicator connects to the rear panel
of your LifeBook. (See Device Ports on page 57 for more
information)
BACK PANEL COMPONENTS
The following is a brief description of your Port Repli-
cator’s back panel components.
LAN (RJ-45) Jack
The LAN port allows you to connect a LAN (RJ-45)
cable. (Figure 4-15)
PS/2 Keyboard Port
The PS/2 keyboard port allows you to connect an
external PS/2 keyboard. (Figure 4-15)
PS/2 Mouse Port
The PS/2 mouse port allows you to connect an external
PS/2 Mouse. (Figure 4-15)
USB Port
The USB port allows you to connect Universal Serial
Bus devices. (Figure 4-15)
External Monitor Port
The external monitor port allows you to connect an
external VGA or SVGA CRT monitor. (Figure 4-15)
Parallel Port
The parallel port allows you to connect parallel devices.
(This is also sometimes referred to as an LPT port.)

Serial Port
The serial port allows you to connect serial (RS-232C)
devices. (This is also sometimes referred to as a COM
port.) (Figure 4-15)
External Floppy Disk Drive Port
The external floppy disk drive port allows you to attach
an optional external floppy disk drive. (Figure 4-15)
DC Power Jack
The DC power jack allows you to plug in the AC
adapter or the optional Auto/Airline adapter to power
your LifeBook. (Figure 4-15)
