Replacing the SATA backplane
Ê
Open the server as described in the
section “Preparation” on page 17
Ê
Disconnect the data cable of the CD/DVD drive. Carefully fold the cable to
the side.
Ê
Remove all the other cables from the SATA backplane.
Ê
Pull both hard disk modules out slightly.

Loosen the knurled screw (see figure) from the SATA backplane, then move
the backplane to the direction of the arrow until its holes disengage from the
housing stand-offs.
Lift the SATA backplane, then set it aside.
Ê
Install the new SATA backplane, match its holes with the housing stand-offs
then move it to the opposite direction to lock.

Be careful of the hard disk connections and the lighting wires.

Fasten the knurled screw.

Connect all cables to the SATA backplane (see

Push both hard disk modules inward.
