Available Shooting modes: All except

Use this setting to change color or tone of images to save.
4 types of film are available according to shooting
subjects.
[
PROVIA]: Use this mode for shooting portrait or
scenery in standard colors and tones.
[
Velvia]: Use this mode for shooting the scenery or
nature in high brightness and sharp tone.
[
SOFT]: Use this mode for shooting in soft tone with
muted color.
[
PORTRAIT]: Use this mode to reproduce natural
skin tones.
CAUTION
ISO sensitivity is restricted. For details, see p.74.
Setting the Dynamic Range
([
DYNAMIC RANGE])
Available Shooting modes: All except
B

Sets the dynamic range used for photographed images.
[AUTO]: The camera automatically varies the dynamic
range between 100% and 400% according to
the scene being shot before taking the picture.
This mode suppresses white flaring and black
patches in scenes with high contrast while also
enabling you to achieve good levels of contrast
in pictures taken indoors or in cloudy weather
where a wide dynamic range is not needed.

Takes the picture with a fixed dynamic range
value, regardless of the scene being shot.
CAUTION
• ISO sensitivity is restricted. For details, see p.74.
• Although wider dynamic range settings will allow you to
take pictures with good levels of contrast, they will also
increase the amount of speckling in your images.
Choose the dynamic range setting that best suits the
conditions.
