4. Connection and Operating mode

CAUTION: these machines are « traditional ». The battery charge will need to be watched and
this charge will only stop when the operator unplugs the charger from the mains.

Choose a sheltered but ventilated area unless specially fitted.
Remove the battery caps (if the battery is fitted with) and be sure that the liquid level (electrolyte) is
right. Otherwise, add some distilled water. Carefully clean the lugs and terminals of the battery.
Check that the capacity (in Amps per hour) and the voltage (in Volts) are compatible with your
charger.
Do not connect to the mains at the beginning.
Place the switch of the machine on STOP.
Place the selector on the adapted position.
Connect the red cable on the DRIVE te12V or 24 V depending on the voltage of the battery.
Connect the clamp (”+” red and “–” black) to the “+” and “–” terminals of the battery making sure you
get a good electrical contact and respecting the following order:
irst, connect the terminal which is not linked to the vehicle chassis.
hen, connect the terminal to the chassis, in a location far from the battery and from
combustible pipes.
onnect the charger input to the mains (220V 50Hz).
lace the selector on the CHARGE position.
fter the charge:
nplug the battery charger from the mains
witch off to STOP
hen remove the connection to the chassis and then the connection to the battery, proceed
in this order.
This machine, as a traditional machine, needs to be watched during the charge to avoid the battery
electrolyte boiling and the eventual acid propagation in the vehicle.
The end of the charge can be detected either by the position of the ammeter pointer is in between 0
to 10A or either when the charge time is exceeding 10h.
