ASSEMBLY OF THE RIVING KNIFE
WARNING: Before any adjustment, repair or maintenance work, and before changing
the blade, switch off the machine and disconnect it form any current source by
removing the plug from the socket.
1. Partially unscrew the hexagonal screw located on the
back support of the riving knife.
2.
Insert the riving knife on the machine centring pin,
install the knife fastening plate and partially tighten
the fixing screw.
3. Adjust the riving knife in order that there is a distance
from 2 to 5 mm between the blade and the riving knife
and check also the alignment between the riving knife
and the blade through a ruler.
4. Tighten the hexagonal screw. Then check again that
the blade is perfectly fixed and re-assemble the bench
inlay.
5. Then assemble the protective cap as illustrated in the
picture. Place it on the upper side of the riving knife in
order that the hole of the protective cap is perfectly
aligned with the one of the riving knife. Insert the screw and tighten the stop nut.
DANGER: THE PROTECTIVE CAP MUST BE ALWAYS USED FOR ALL CUTTING
OPERATIONS TO AVOID ANY RISK OF CONTACT WITH THE BLADE.
IT RISES AUTOMATICALLY WHEN THE WORKPIECE PASSES THROUGH THE BLADE.
