y
Do not use the rivet for fastening electrical cables
because the insulation on the wires could become
damaged and life-threatening voltage could be conduc-
ted to the metal parts of the tool, which could lead to
injury of the user by electrical shock.
Cleaning
and maintenance
y
Remove the rivet drill adapter from the drill before
cleaning and maintenance The rivet drill adapter is
supplied factory lubricated. Once per year or more
often, disassemble the adapter and lubricate it using
industrial Vaseline.
y
Do not use any organic solvents or corrosive cleaning
products for cleaning.
y
For warranty repairs of the product, please contact the
vendor from whom you purchased the product and they
will organise repairs at an authorised service centre
for the Extol® brand. For a post warranty repair, please
contact the authorised service centre of the Extol®
brand directly (you will find the repair locations at the
website at the start of this user‘s manual).
y
For safety reasons and for reason of exercising the
warranty, exclusively original parts of the manufacturer
may be used for repairs.
y
In the event that a torn mandrel of the rivet becomes
jammed in the jaws, it is necessary to first screw out
nut 4, then part 3 and finally part 11 according to fig.
8. Part 12 contains 3 jaw pieces (part 13), which must
be reinserted into part 12 in the orientation shown in
fig. 8.
Storage
y
Store the rivet drill adapter in a dry place, out of the
reach of children. Protect the rivet drill adapter from
rain and moisture.

The product is covered by a 2-year guarantee
from the date of sale according to law. If reques-
ted by the buyer, the seller is obliged to provide
the buyer with the warranty conditions (rights
relating to faulty performance) in written form.
y
Free warranty repairs relate only to manufacturing
defects on the product (hidden and external) and do
not relate to the wear of the product as a result of
excessive load or normal use or damage of the product
caused by incorrect use.

In the event of a dispute between the buyer and the
vendor in respect to the purchase contract that was not
resolved directly between the parties, the buyer has
the right to the trade inspection authority for an out-
-of-court settlement of the a consumer dispute. At the
website of the trade inspection authority there is a link

Technical drawing (fig. 8)
1) Insert the hexagonal shaft of the adapter
sufficiently deep into the chuck of the drill and
securely tighten by clamping the chuck.
2) Use one hand to hold the rivet drill adapter
(fig. 4), set the clockwise rotation direction of
the drill chuck and then start the drill to slide
the jaws towards the drill.
In the event that the jaws do not move while the
drill is running, push on the jaws with a suitable tool,
which should set the jaws in motion. If the jaws are
extended too far forward, it will not be possible to
screw the riveting end (nosepiece) into the adapter
(fig. 8, position 6, 7, 8, 11). The rivet end (nosepiece)
differs in length based on the hole diameter for the
insertion of the pin of the rivet.
3) Into the rivet drill adapter, screw the riveting
end (nosepiece) with the number correspon-
ding to the rivet body diameter (see fig. 6).
The rivet must be selected to respect the
material being riveted, hole diameter and its
maximum depth. The maximum lift of the rivet
drill adapter is 1.7 cm, i.e. distance Y in fig. 5,
however, this length should be less than 1.2 cm
in most cases. If it is longer than 1.5 cm, the
mandrel of the rivet may become jammed in
the adapter.
The relationship between the value in inches on the
rivet attachment and millimetres is provided in Table
1. The number shown on the riveting end (nosepiece)
must correspond to the rivet body diameter. The
riveting ends (nosepieces) differ by the diameter of
the pin of the rivet for which they are intended in
order to produce sufficient pressure on the jaws to
create a hole of a sufficient diameter for the insertion
of the pin of the rivet of a certain diameter. It will not
be possible to pull the rivet without the riveting end
(nosepiece).
Inappropriately selected riveting end (nosepiece) may
result in the torn mandrel not being released. Then
secure the riveting end (nosepiece) using a wrench
(fig. 6).
4) Hold the rivet drill adapter with one hand, set
the anti-clockwise rotation direction of the
drill chuck and then start the drill to slide the
jaw and push on the riveting end (nosepiece),
which will create an opening in the jaws for the
insertion of the mandrel of the rivet.
5) Insert the rivet body all the way into the hole
in the materials being joined, see fig. 7. To
achieve a proper joint, it is necessary for the
rivet to be seated vertically in the hole! While
holding the rivet in the hand, slide the pin of
the rivet into the riveting end (nosepiece) on
the adapter.
6) Then hold the rivet drill adapter in one hand
and rotate the chuck head clockwise to pull the
rivet until the mandrel of the rivet is torn off
(see fig. 7).
•
ATTENTION
y
Work with the blind rivet drill adapter requires
proper control and the use of appropriate force.
When working with the rivet drill adapter, it is
necessary to ensure appropriate/adequate use of
force/torque including the proper speed. This applies
particularly in the last phase when tightening name-
ly larger rivets prior to tearing off the pin where it is
recommended to reduce the speed.
7) Slide the torn off mandrel of the rivet out of
the jaws by changing the drill chuck rotation
direction to anti-clockwise and push in the
jaws on the riveting end (nosepiece). The torn
off mandrel should fall out of the jaws of the
adapter on its own.
Safety Instructions
y
Work in a well lit work location.
y
Maintain a stable work posture.
y
Keep hands and all body parts in a safe place at a suffi-
cient distance from the work area.
y
Make sure that there is no loosely hanging clothing,
chains, long hair, gloves, etc. in the vicinity of the work
area since they could be caught by the rivet.
