PRINCIPLE OF
OPERATION
WARNING
Don not use cruise control in
heavy traffic, on twisty roads or
when the road surface is slippery.
The cruise control system
automatically adjusts the power
output of the engine to maintain the
stored speed. When travelling
downhill, vehicle speed may increase
above the stored speed as the
system does not apply the brakes.
In this case, changing down a gear
and then pressing the
RES
button
may assist the system in returning
the vehicle to the stored speed.
The system will not function until the
vehicle speed is above 40 km/h (25
mph). On vehicles with a diesel
engine, the system will not function
in first or second gear.
