depress the brake pedal or

transmitted to the drive wheels.
D = Drive
This is the normal driving position.
When the brake is released, the
vehicle will creep. All forward gears
are selected automatically depending
on driving conditions.

transmission)
When shifting manually, gears

can be selected.
2 = Gear 2 (4-speed
transmission)
The transmission remains
permanently in second gear. This
position should be selected on down
hill gradients to avoid unnecessary
use of the brakes, and on long uphill
gradients and twisty roads. It can also
be used for initial start-off on icy
roads.
