2.2 Suction phase
Turn back the piston approx. 10 mm until the thread becomes visible. (Caution: when turning the piston always
hold the cylinder firmly). Keep in that position for 5 mins. A vacuum occurs inside the working chamber. In the
control mirror you can see how the air escapes out of the damaged area towards the injector in the form of
small black spots. The pressure and suction phases have to be repeated till no small black spots are visible in
the suction phase.
2.3 Heating
Slight heating of the damaged area speeds up the filling of small cracks and the removal of trapped air. To do
this, hold a blow dryer on the inner surface of the windscreen somewhat below the damaged area.
• Caution:
The heating should only be carried out during the suction phase. The expanding air could cause
unintended pressure in the damaged area. The assessment of the repair progress can only be effected during
the suction phase! During the pressure phase air can be compressed until no black spots are visible.
3. Hardening of the repair
The hardening can be started when the damaged spot is clear and there are no air locks. To do this, first
remove the tool holder by turning the suction lever and slightly lifting the suction device laterally from the
windscreen.
3.1 Foil
Remove one piece of foil from the foil roll (approx.4-5 cm) and apply it to the part to be repaired without
exerting any pressure.
3.2 Finishing resin
Slightly lift the foil from above (just below the impact crater), add a drop of finishing resin onto the damaged
spot and let the foil slide back onto the windscreen.
3.3 UV lamp
The UV lamp quickly hardens the area to be repaired. To do this, fix the UV lamp on the outside of the
damaged area after you have rubbed the suction device with vacuum gel, and switch it on. The hardening of
the damaged area is finished in approx. 5-6 mins.
4. Finishing treatment
4.1 Scraping / Smoothing
Remove the foil from the damaged spot and scrape off surplus material from the screen using the blade. Do
not push off or plane the resin as it could break out of the damaged area. If you can still find a depression in
the part to be repaired after this operation, apply the finishing resin one more time, position the foil, harden and
scrape again to get a proper plane surface. Only use the correct blades, otherwise the screen may
bedamaged.
4.2 Polishing (machine not included in set)
Finally clamp the polisher to the drilling machine and re-polish the repaired area with low pressure using some
of the final polish.
• Caution:
If polished too long, the repair resin may be removed and the surface may no longer be plane. After
finishing the repair, clean the suckers of the tool holder, lamp and mirror with a lint-free cloth. To clean the
injector, remove the residual resin from the working chamber by turning the injector completely. The repair is
finished when the screen has been cleaned.
5. Conditions for the repair of laminated windscreens n accordance with German law
For passenger cars and other vehicles with a gross vehicle weight rating of 3.5 t. Only damage to the external
surface of the screen may be repaired. The interior screen and intermediate layer must not show any signs of
damage.
1. The zone is marked on the windscreen by a 29 cm wide strip (approx. the width of DIN A4 format) the
centre of which goes through the centre of the steering wheel and which is limited at the top and bottom by the
windscreen wiper field.
2. The size of the chip on the surface of the glass must not exceed 5 mm. The diameter of the entire stone
impact must not be larger than 2 cm. The cracks emanating from the point of impact must not be longer than 5
cm.
3. A crack must not enter the screen seal; there must be ad distance of approx. 10 cm from the edge. The
intermediate layer must not be damaged.
