Work instructions
Warning!
Check that all parts
are firmly attached and obvi-
ously undamaged.
Warning!
Hold the hedge
trimmer firmly with both
hands! Ensure that the cut-
ting bar does not touch any objects
or the ground and that there are no
people or animals in the vicinity
before starting! Risk of injury!
•
Look over the working area and re-
move any obstructions.
•
Remove all foreign objects from the
hedge, such as wire or other parts,
as these may block or damage the
cutting mechanism.
•
Cut out thick branches beforehand
using pruning shears.
•
Pick up the tool in both hands as
specified.
•
Always cut at full engine speed.
•
Start cutting only with the cutting
mechanism running.
•
The impact guard protects you
against unpleasant impacts, e.g.
recoil torque of the cutter, when
striking a solid object (wall, ground,
etc.).
•
Never touch wire fences or the
ground with the running cutting
mechanism.
•
If cutting hedges over a prolonged
period, interrupt your work more
frequently and oil the cutter bar.
•
Switch the engine off and unplug
the power supply cord:
-
to remove blockages (jammed
clippings) from the cutting bar;
-
if the unit behaviour changes or
it vibrates unusually;
-
if you have come into con-
tact with foreign objects or the
ground;
-
when taking breaks and leaving
the unit unattended.
Switching on
Start up:
1. Push the safety switch

the handlebar and hold it.

Release both the safety switch

to turn off the
hedge trimmer.
Note:
The motor stops operat-
ing if one of the switches is re-
leased.
Cutting techniques
Hold the hedge trimmer at an
angle of 5°–10° to the hedge.
Cut the hedge from bottom to
top, sides first. Use switch

for
vertical working.
Cut the top in an oscillating
movement, advancing slowly.
Use switch

for horizontal
working.
