5.4.2 Cable Connection
The sensor cable must be provided by the user.
Note
The cable must include shielded wires. The screwed cable gland described below is not a strain relief!
Consequently, the cable must be clamped accordingly during the installation. The outside diameter of the
connecting cables (round cable) should lie between 4 to 6.5 mm (0.16 to 0.26 in). Note that it might be necessary
to additionally seal the cable entry to allow IP65 with smaller cables!
Note
To improve the assembly ability, the threads of the end cap and sensor are greased with silicone.
To connect the cable to the sensor you should proceed with the following example for the 2-wire model:
Step 1
Unscrew the end-cap until it can be pulled away from the
sensor body.
Step 2
Open the PG threaded cable gland.
Step 3
The cable gland consists of a PG nut (1), a relief bushing (2)
and a metal cone ring (3).
