5.8.3 REPLACING THE OIL IN THE FRONT AND REAR AXLES

- Park the vehicle on level ground, turn off the engine, apply the parking brake, lower the arm and remove the
ignition key.
CAUTION: Before proceeding, always read the safety regulations for the operations to be carried out
as set out in Chapter 3.

- Position two pans under the front and rear axles by the draining caps.
- Unscrew the draining caps (

), (

) and (

). Position the cap (
3
) at the bottom by turning the planetary
reduction gear.
- Unscrew the level gauge cap (
4
) and (
5
).
- Drain out all the oil and screw the draining caps (
1
) and (
2
) back on.
- Turn back the planetary reduction gear so that the plug (
3
) is in the position as shown in the fi gure. Using a
funnel, add the required type of oil until reaching the optimal level.
- Unscrew the fi ller cap (

) and (
7
).
- Using a funnel, add the required type of oil through the fi ller cap (
6
) and (
7
) until oil trickles from the hole in
the level gauges (

) and (
5
).
