Modification, disassembly and repair
11.1
Modification and disassembly
Note
Loss of the safety function
Modification of the control block, i. e. equipping it with solenoid valves other than those
that are factory-installed (
spare parts, chap. 12) is not permitted, as this measure
can result in loss of conformity.
11.2
Repair
Note
If repairs are required, only identically constructed solenoid valves should be used as
replacements (
spare parts, chap. 12). The control block itself cannot be repaired.
•
Please consult your local Festo service if you have any questions.
Proceed as follows to replace individual, same-type solenoid valves of the control block:
1. Switch off the following energy sources:
–
operating voltage
–
compressed air.
2. Disconnect the connection to the proximity sensors.
3. Loosen the screw on the plug socket of the solenoid coils with a slotted-head screwdriver and re-
move the socket.
4. Loosen 2 mounting screws from the solenoid valve by using an Allen key (A/F 3) and remove the
solenoid valve from the control block.
5. Pick up a new solenoid valve of the same type.
