7.1
Prior to commissioning
•
Switch off the power supply before connecting or disconnecting plug connectors (risk of functional
damage).
•
Commission only control blocks that are completely mounted and electrically wired.
7.2
Switch-on characteristics
Fig. 5 shows the pneumatic and electric switch-on characteristics at the control block with PNP proxim-
ity sensors and without resistive load. Through interrogation (resistive load) of the proximity sensor,
the switching times can be extended by a maximum of 2 ms. With use of NPN proximity sensors, the
signal characteristics are reversed, i.e. rising instead of dropping.
Process during switch-on:
At the time t = 0 both coils are energised. After approx. 11 ms, the proximity sensors report the exit
from the neutral position of the solenoid valves, and after a total of approx. 24 ms the previously un-
pressurized port (2) is supplied with pressure. Further switching times

urements with the PNP proximity sensor at an operating pressure of 6 bar without resistive
load)
Note
The switching times shown above were determined using a pressure transducer at
port (2) and only apply for an operating pressure of 6 bar. Switching times for 3 bar and
10 bar
