Method of operation and use
The stop lever

of the intermediate position module type HMP−...−B−...−Z−...
swivels in and out when the pneumatic connections are pressurized. When the
stop lever is swung out, the shock absorber of linear module type HMP−...−B−...
strikes against the stop lever. The shock absorber is fastened with the shock
absorber support

on the guide tube of the linear module. The linear module is
therefore in an intermediate position.
A magnet is fastened to the internal double piston of the intermediate position
module. The position of the piston and thereby the setting of the stop lever
(swivelled in or out) can be scanned by means of proximity switches in the groove
2
of the intermediate position module.
A transport cycle of the linear module must always end in the park position. The
stop lever must only swing in and out if the stop lever is not loaded and if the
swivel path is not blocked.
Depending on the type, the intermediate posi
tion module must only be used in the in
tended direction of stop:
HMP−...−Z1E−....
when the guide tube
retracts
HMP−...−Z1A−....
when the guide tube
extends
If used in the incorrect direction of stop, the
HMP−...−Z..−... will be damaged.
The intermediate position module has been
designed for positioning the guide tube on
Festo linear modules of type HMP−...−B−... in a
position between the end positions.
Definition
Park position = end position of the linear module before the first intermediate
position (standard: retracted end position).
