2.2 Preparing the RIO network
2.2.1 Compiling the configuration list
Configuration of the CP system requires an accurate
procedure, as different configuration specifications are
sometimes necessary for each system due to the
modular structure. Before commissioning or programm-
ing you should therefore compile a configuration list of
all connected field bus slaves. Some A-B controllers
perform an automatic comparison between the NOMI-
NAL and ACTUAL configurations when they are
switched on. For the configuration it is important that: Configuration

the specifications on configuration are as correct and
as complete as possible
•
the power supply to the PLC and to the RIO slaves
is switched on at the same time or in the sequence
specified (see Chapter 2.3).
