INSTALLATION
Handling
Check the weight of the appliance before proceeding with the moving and handling operations. The weight is indi-
cated on the data plate of the appliance and in the “Main Features” section of this manual. Make sure that the
appliance is handled with care and without jolting as rough treatment could damage the functional parts of the
machine.
Comply with the following instructions when lifting and positioning the appliance:
•
Carry the packed appliance as near as possible to the installation site using the handles on the pack or the pallet
to which the appliance is fixed.
•
Remember that the heavier part of the appliance is the one where the compressor is installed (indicated by a
symbol on the pack).
•
All the appliances are supplied in a cardboard box fixed to a pallet in both the longitudinal and crosswise direc-
tions. If a lift truck is used for handling purposes, remember to place suitable material between the truck itself and
the appliance in order to prevent the bank surfaces from being damaged.
Choice of the installation site
Bear the following points in mind before installing the appliance:
•
Position the appliance where it is sheltered from the rain and direct sunlight and in a sufficiently ventilated place.
•
The appliance must be positioned in a place that is able to bear its weight and where vibrations and noise cannot
be amplified.
•
Position the appliance where noise and the air flow are unable to annoy the neighbours.
•
The appliance must be installed a certain distance away from walls and furniture, as indicated in Fig.1.
•
If the appliance is installed on the floor, avoid places where water is liable to accumulate or drop from gutters, etc.
•
In zones where a great deal of snow is likely to fall or where the temperature remains below 0°C for long periods
of time, the appliance must be mounted on a 20-30 cm thick concrete base to prevent snow from building up
around the machine.
•
During winter, heat pumps produce condensation that drips on to the bearing surface, forming puddles that are
often annoying and/or unpleasant. To prevent condensation from infiltrating into the machine, it is advisable to
create an accumulation trough under the machine with a channel to convey the condensation towards a drain.
Comply with the minimum distances required as indi-
cated in the drawing on the right.
A = 40 cm
B = 15 cm
C = 60 cm
D = 15 cm
If a roofing is installed, it must be higher than the
machine by at least ¾ of the height of the machine
itself.
NOTE: To ensure the ventilation required for correct
operation, the appliance must not be surrounded by
more than three walls.
