SAFETY
in a few tenths of a second. Once deployed, the active roll bars help to
maintain a safety area around the occupants together with the windscreen
surround (and the hard top if used).
Warning
Do not drive if rear passengers rest their heads on the roll bar covers,
face the rear of the vehicle or are seated on top of the roll bar covers. If
the roll bars are activated, this increases a risk of injury.
Warning
Never place items on or near the roll bar covers. If the roll bars are
activated, these items may delay or prevent exiting of the roll bar.
They may also be projected into the passenger compartment at a high
speed that seriously jeopardises the safety of the occupants.
Tyre temperature and pressure monitoring system (TPMS)
To increase safety, this vehicle is equipped with a tyre pressure monitoring
system (TPMS), which activates a warning lamp if the inflation pressure
of one or more of the tyres is too low. If the TPMS low tyre pressure
warning lamp illuminates, stop the vehicle as soon as possible, check the
tyres and inflate them to the correct pressure. Driving with a tyre that is
not inflated to the correct pressure may cause overheating and ultimately
damage the tyre. A tyre that is not inflated to the correct pressure also
increases fuel consumption and shortens the service life of the tyre, as well
as affecting the braking ability and handling of the vehicle.
Important note
The TPMS system is not a substitute for routine maintenance of the
tyres. The driver is responsible for checking the tyre pressure even if
no events occur causing the TPMS low tyre pressure warning lamp to
illuminate.
The vehicle is also equipped with a warning lamp which indicates if the
TPMS system is not working properly. This warning lamp is linked to
the low tyre pressure warning lamp. When the system detects a fault,
the warning light flashes for approximately one minute and then remains
permanently lit. This sequence is repeated every time the engine is started
until the problem is solved. When the warning light that indicates the
fault is on, the system may not be able to detect or indicate that the tyre
pressure is low.
Important note
Malfunctions of the TPMS system may be caused by a number of
reasons. These include usage of the spare wheel fitting different
wheels, which prevent the TPMS system from working correctly. After
replacing one or more tyres, always ensure that the TPMS system is
working correctly by checking the status of the warning lamp.
