Connecting the device (external
device)
A connection of the Infotainment to an
external device may also be initiated
from the external device.
Two scenarios need to be distinguished
in the following:
• External device had already been
connected with the Infotainment
before.
• External device has never been
connected with the Infotainment.
External device had already been
connected with the Infotainment
Upon the connection attempt of the
external device, an audible signal is
sounded and the following display
appears.

Note:
If another device was previously
connected, then this connection will
now be disconnected.

If one device is already connected to the
Infotainment (a hands-free connection),
then an additional hands-free
connection attempt will be ignored by
the external device.
Note:
If the function described under
“Always allow connection” on
page 115 is activated then a brief
audible signal will sound and a display
appears notifying of the connection of
the external device.
