instruction manual and make sure you understand
them, as well as the labels on the machine. Get to
know areas of application for the machine as well
as its limits and any risks which are relevant to this
particular machine.
2. Always make sure the machine is earthed. This
machine is equipped with a certified 3-wired cable
with a 3-poled, earthed plug for connecting to an
earthed socket. The green earth wire in the cable
may not be connected to the mains.
3. Keep the guards in place. The guards should be in
working order and properly installed.
4. Remove the keys. Get into the habit of checking
whether the chuck key etc. is removed before tur

benches invite accidents. Keep floors tidy. They
can become slippery due to wax and sawdust.
6. Avoid dangerous environments. Do not use the
machine in damp premises. Do not expose it to
rain. Use good lighting. Make sure you have space
enough to work.

or its accompanying parts for any work which it is
not designed for.

parts. Non-slip shoes are recommended. Use a hair
net to keep long hair up. Roll up long sleeves past
the elbow.
12. Use protective eyewear (head protection). Always
use protective eyewear. Normal glasses do not
provide protection – the glass can only withstand
impact. Use respiratory protective equipment as
well if work is dusty, and use ear protection (ear
-
plugs or ear covers) during longer periods of work.
13. Fasten the work-piece. If possible use clamps or a
vice to keep the work-piece in place. In this man

stand steadily and remain balanced.

can be hazardous.
19. Never stand on the machine or its base. Serious

not keep any material on top of the machine or
in any manner whereby you have to stand on the
machine, or its base, in order to reach it.
20. Check for damaged parts. Carefully ensure that
safety guards or any other damaged parts are
changed and are functioning properly before the
machine is started up. Make sure that moving
