ground source
PREPARATIONS
On receiving a delivery, carefully unpack all the parts
and check that there is nothing missing and that there
are no transport damages.
WARNING:
For your own safety, never connect the
plug to the mains before the machine is completely
installed.
MAINTENANCE
WARNING: For your own safety, set the circuit
breaker to “OFF” and pull out the plug from the
mains before you carry out any maintenance or
lubricate the machine.
Frequently vacuum out the dust accumulated inside the
motor. If you rub furniture wax on the table and the
pillar the surfaces will be kept clean longer.
WARNING: In order to avoid electric shock or fire,
change any damaged or worn cables without delay.
LUBRICATION
All BALL BEARINGS are factory lubricated and
require no additional lubrication.
Now and then lubricate the gear mechanism for adjus
-
ting the height of the table, the spindle channel and the
gear rack’s (the barrel’s cogs). See “Get to know your
machine”.
USING THE LASER SYSTEM
Safety.
Warning. Do not look straight into the laser
beams.
Never aim the laser beam at anybody or at anybody’s
eyes.
The laser beam cannot be used on reflecting material.
Only turn the laser beam on when it is to be directed
at a work-piece.
Operation
1. Mark out the point of the drill on the work-piece.
2. Connect the plug and start the machine.
3. Turn on the laser and direct it to the laser cross on
the marked drilling spot.
4. Fix the material to be drilled.
5. Drill.
6. Switch off the laser.
Adjusting the laser beam
1. Loosen the rings of each laser and adjust them until
the cross is exactly directed at the spot to be drilled.
2. Screw the rings back in place.
We recommend that you allow a certified electrician
to replace the 2-pole socket with a 3-pole, earthed
socket. The adapter shown in the picture, which is
used for connecting the plug to the 2-pole socket, can
be ordered.
WARNING: The green pin protruding from the
adapter must always be connected to a permanent
earth ground source, e.g. a properly earthed elec-
trical terminal.
NB:
The adapter shown in the picture should only be
used if you already have a properly earthed 2-pole
socket. In Canada it is not permitted (according to
the Canadian Electrical Code) to use adapters. Using
extension cables results in certain loss of output. In
order to minimise this loss, and in order to avoid
overheating or burning out the motor, follow the table
below for selecting cable size (A.W.G. = American
Wire Gauge). Only use extension cables with 3 wires
which have 3-pole plugs and 3-pole sockets that match
the machine’s plug.
