Housing Cover
To remove the housing from the cabinet:
1. Remove the 4 screws that secure the housing cover to
the rear of the cabinet.
2. Open the door and remove the 4 screws that secure the housing cover to the front of
the cabinet.
Note: If possible position the shredder so that there is a protected work surface on the right side
of the shredder to be used to support the housing cover.
3. Grip the housing cover on both sides and gently pull up to lift the housing cover off
the base.
Note: Be careful. Do not put stress on the cable that is connected to the Control Panel PC Board
on the housing cover.
4. Disconnect the cables from the PC board in the housing cover. (See wiring
diagrams.) Set the cover on a suitable work surface.
Paper Waste Bin

The paper waste bin fits in the cabinet.
•
The bin full LED will light when the waste bin is full.
o
The bin must be emptied and put back in the cabinet.
•
The CD/DVD waste bin fits on the left, front rim of the waste bin.
o
Two small holes in the edge of the CD/DVD bin fit over nodes on the front
rim of the waste bin.
•
The CD/DVD bin capacity is 10 CD/DVDs.
o
The shredder will shut off automatically when the CD/DVD bin is full.
o
Empty the CD/DVD bin to resume operations.
Mechanical Assemblies
The Cutting block and Gears are the major mechanical assemblies.
Cutting Block
The cutting block consists of 2 cutting shafts, strippers, bearing plates, distance rods, and
cover plates. The motor, gears, and gear box cover are attached to the cutting block.
To remove the cutting block from the cabinet on model 225i:
1. Remove the 6 10mil nuts that secure the cutting block and motor to the cabinet. This
will need to be done from underneath the cutting block inside the cabinet.
2.
Lift the cutting block with the motor out of the cabinet and place on a flat surface to
protect the cutting cylinders.
On model 225i please be sure to remove the noise
