Programming with Commander
The following capabilities are only available if programmed from the factory or via
Commander. Functions which combine multiple actions together can be activated via
Modbus. In addition, the IP15 has inputs to locally activate the unit. These inputs require
programming from the factory or via Commander
1.
Programming Functions–Functions are a set of specific instructions for an
Informer15. Functions are typically used when a number of actions are always used
together (for example, with relay activations, volume level, multiple voice messages,
use ambient noise level, and so forth.) Functions are defined at time of order and are
programmed in the unit at the factory. A Modbus address or register is assigned to
these functions for activation.
2.
Programming Local Physical Inputs–The Informer15 has four inputs that can be used
to notify the Modbus controller of an activation. In addition, the local activation input
can activate the speaker to perform a single action or a set of actions (for example,
relay, light, tone, voice, and so forth.)
1. Configuring the Network Interface
The procedures in this section apply to the following informer:
• Informer15 Speaker (I-IP15)
Configuring the Network Interface through the Web Browser
The System Administrator identifies the server IP address, Subnet Mask, Default
Gateway, and the IP addresses for all Informer devices.
If the configuration details are lost or changed incorrectly and it becomes necessary
to restore the Informer to factory default settings, see the “Restoring Configuration to
Login
To configure the network interface through the web browser:
1.
Prior to installing Informer devices on an IP network, connect your PC to the
Informer device using a LAN cable. Turn on the Informer device.
2.
Change your Local Area Connection (Ethernet) adapter address to the following:
IP Address: 10.10.10.10
Subnet Mask: 255.255.0.0
Default Gateway: 10.10.10.10
This allows you to access the Informer at its default IP address (10.10.10.1).
