5.18 Cleaning the fuel screen

Danger
Fire hazard!
When working on the fuel system do not use
open fire, do not smoke and do not spill any fu-
el.
Clean the fuel screen filter only when the en-
gine is cold.

Health hazard!
Do not inhale any fuel fumes.
Environment
Catch running out fuel and dispose of environ-
mentally.

Open the fuel tap (Fig. 60) by turning in direc-
tion of arrow.

Unscrew the fuel sludge filter 1 (Fig. 61) and
drain off all gasoline.
l
Check seal ring (2) for cracks, replace the seal
if damaged.
l
Screw the fuel sludge filter with sealing ring (2)
in tightly.

Disassemble the fuel tank, for this purpose un-
screw hexagon nuts (1) (Fig. 62) and hexagon
screw (2).
