4.11.2 REMOVING FROM STORAGE
When removing from storage and preparing to use,
follow this procedure:
1. Clear the area of bystanders, especially small
children, and remove foreign objects from the
machine and the working area.
2. Attach the tractor to the sprayer by following the
procedure in Section 4.8.
3. Check
a. All hardware. Tighten as required.
b. Tire pressure.
c. All sprayer and hydraulic lines, fi ttings and
connections. Tighten as required.
4. Lubricate all grease fi ttings.
5. Replace any defective parts.
6. Fill the tank with 20 gallons (75 liters) of clean
water and run for 5 minutes in the wash cycle.
Open and close all valves several times. Flush
water through the booms.
Install the nozzles. Run water through booms,
and check for leaks.
7. Repeat step 6.
8. Calibrate the pump, nozzles and sprayer before
using.
9. Go through the pre-operation checklist (Section
4.4) before using.
4. Lubricate all grease points. Make sure all grease
cavities have been fi lled with grease to remove
any water residue from the washing.
5. Inspect all the hydraulic hoses, couplers and
fi ttings. Tighten any loose fi ttings. Replace any
hose that is badly cut, nicked, abraded or is sepa-
rating from the crimped end of a fi tting.
6. Inspect all the spray hoses and fi ttings. Tighten
any loose fi ttings. Replace any hose that is badly
cut, nicked, abraded or is separating from a fi t-
ting.
7. Touch up all paint nicks and scratches to prevent
rusting.
8. Move the machine to it storage position.
9. Select an area that is dry, level and free of debris.
10. Place planks under the jack for added support if
required.
11. Unhook the machine from the tractor (Refer to
Section 4.8).
12. Remove the control boxes from the cab and store
inside.
